These days devotees of sports have set up surf schools for teaching the Best of surfing. Some popular east coast surf schools are;
Billabong Surf schools: Billabong offers about 20 different schools all over the country which are designed to teach everyone, regardless of their levels. Nancy Emerson School of surfing: This was the first institution in Hawaiian island, coaching surfing since 1973.
Paskowitz Surf camp: Paskowitz surf camp in San Diego, California is the longest-running surf camp in the state. it provides 8 training sessions in 2-6 days.
Corey’s wave: Corey wave has a lot to offer in individual as well as group coachings. They even teach you standup paddleboarding there.
Surf soul: In Waikiki and Kauai, surf soul offers beginner and advanced level training in a student-friendly environment.
Richard Schmidt surf school: this school also offers to stand up paddleboard lessons, classes and marine tours for all ages.
Skudin surf – Adult camps, kids lessons and premier school courses are offered here (Byrnes, 2016).
In these schools, people are taught according to their skills. The basic level training comprises of the teachings of water security, instructor signals, coping up with the emergency situations, surf dangers, sea rescues knowledge, surfboard and equipment descriptions, stand up, paddling techniques, wipe out controls and current knowledge.
While advanced level seekers are taught the perfect wave catch timing knowledge, backside and front side maneuvers, combined maneuvers and angled take off, surfing culture and history, localism, surfing rules and spots knowledge, surf training including yoga and stretching, agonistic training, surf contest rules, and judging criteria.
